The American Express Business Platinum team was in need of a new premium mailer for prospective clients. I was given the chance to research and present unique folds and methods for how the mailer could be assembled. The three mockups below were the options that were originally presented. To help the team decide, I was asked to create a mockup of the potential winner with art roughly in place as well as a step by step on how the user would interact with the piece when they received it.
The end product was a fun and interactive mailer. It appealed to the senses by using soft touch and gloss varnish on the outer envelope. The signature scent of the Centurion Lounge was also included in the glue that held the envelope shut, and could be smelled once the receiver opened the mailer. The iron cross and gate fold combination presented lots of interaction as the pocket held the letter and the brochure was tucked underneath two flaps. The brochure featured tabs that had icons that corresponded to each feature highlighted on the page.
